Lending a Helping Hand

Well someone I know was having problems with a page on a group they created and it kept getting all messed up code wise. So this person was getting extremely frustrated.

Being a administrator of the group, I just jumped in and re-coded the page for her. Now, normally I charge for this because that's how I make a humble living. But I hate seeing people get so upset about something that means alot to them so I just felt the need to do it.

Supporting the Young Divas

I'm a supporter now of The Diva Parlour. I donated my membership, samples for their "cakes to sell" and gave her a video on how to make a one layer "it's a teen thing diva cake".

My desire is help her so she can raise funds for this wonderful site, for our "young" divas"...I will continue to support them with whatever I can in the future.. it feels good:)

It Feels Good to Give

We give regularly to the homeless ministry at my church. There's room on a first-come, first-served basis for 16 guests in the courtyard of the church offices nightly. A guard is provided for their safety. Breakfast is served to them every morning. On Christmas and Easter, our church family's donations even send them to a motel for the holiday. I can't tell you how wonderful it feels ot be a part of it.

Yet, while that feels great, there's something so special about a direct connection. Our niece lost her husband early this year. He was only 41. On the months when we could write a check to the special fund set aside for her two children, I felt like the richest woman on earth in love and spirit. When we can "help take care of our own," it feels so right. I happened to recall yesterday (my mind must have been giving me a preview of this post!) the several times I have helped friends out with gifts of time or treasure in hard times. There is nothing I do more willingly with less thought of return, because to me, it's the kind of act that is the essence of friendship and family.

Lift Every Voice and Sing

Blessings . . . I used to sing in my church choir, but because of the business and taking care of my Mom and grandbabies, I let that go. Well, the woman who convinced me to join the choir to begin with had worked at the church for some time. She has taken care of her widowed mother for 34 years. Her mother died this week. To honor the daughter, I robed up and sang at her memorial service yesterday. The daughter was very happy that I was there. I'm glad I did it, too. Fortunately, it was a song I knew well.

Hello World!

November 21 was World Hello Day so I spent the day busy calling all my customers and clients and friends to wish them a Happy World Hello Day and to thank them for their business. It has been so much fun. People cannot believe we are just calling to say hello.

Sometimes All it Takes is Prayer

This morning I sent our publisher a prayer and offering to take anything off her plate to deal with her ill husband at this time. She is a wonderful woman and our prayers go out to her. Even if we have to fly out to Calgary, we will go and support her anyway we can.

We don't have the money to give her, but we will share our time and our heart.
